Alternative English Program International Schools are private schools accessible for international students as well as Korean students, implementing an American or IB curriculum. Most students who enroll in Alternative English International Schools have the goal of matriculating into an American university or other universities outside of Korea and the US. AP courses are offered and there is a strong focus on extracurricular activities and the SAT -- much like a high school in America. Alternative English International Schools are not considered equivalent to a Korean High School accredited by the Korean Ministry of Education; however, most are accredited by reputable and globally recognized institutions such as AdvancED.
